CONTRACEPTIVE SECURITY AND MEETING REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH NEEDS IN SOUTHEAST ASIA

Rosalia Sciortino worked in the Jakarta and Manila offices from 1993 to 2000. This synthesis report reviews the provision of contraceptive services and commodities in Southeast Asia, assessing progress in achieving contraceptive security and meeting the reproductive health needs of the region's population. The purpose is to systematize fragmented knowledge into an integrated evidence base for follow-up study, advocacy and action. The report was written by Dr Rosalia Sciortino and commissioned by the Asia Pacific Alliance for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, through a grant provided through Project Resource Mobilisation and Awareness (Project RMA). Project RMA is a joint effort of Population Action International, the International Planned Parenthood Federation and the German Foundation for World Population to increase political and financial support for reproductive health supplies at global, regional and national levels.
