Recordings By George Gelles

George Gelles, who has written on music and dance for the newsletter of The LAFF Society and whose most recent article on “Amateur Professionals” appears in the current issue, has recorded several compositions that are made available here.

Gelles, a French horn player, recorded works by the early 19th century French hornist and composer Jacques-François Gallay, whom he describes as a “superstar performer and pedagogue nonpareil, as well as a composer of fertile gifts.”

These pieces, he says, are “engaging”, and “though their charms may be modest, they are nonetheless real.”
