Building a Career in Social Justice: Journeys of Former Ford Foundation PAs

For over two decades The Ford Foundation has helped launch the careers of a large and growing network of former PAs (called Program Associates, Program Assistants and Program Analysts at different points in time). PAs move on from the Ford Foundation to build extraordinary careers in wide-ranging fields. The speakers will share their journeys since working at the Ford Foundation. Currently confirmed speakers include Bird Runningwater, Senior Director at Sundance Institute and Raquel Mazon-Jeffers, Senior Healthcare Program Officer at The Nicholson Foundation. Additional speakers to be announced.

Place:  Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice
320 East 43rd Street
New York, NY 11370
Susan Berresford Room
Date:  Wednesday, September 18, 2019
Panel Time:  5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

In addition to hearing the panel, we are inviting you to be part of a new project, “Recollection Collection: tell us your memories of working at the Ford Foundation”. For many years, LAFF has wanted to create an oral history of our members’ memories, reflections, and stories about working at the Ford Foundation. Through the good offices of our member Louis Bickford we are now able to offer that opportunity. There will be a story-collection station at the September meeting. We hope you will contribute! The project, powered by the Memria Platform (founded by Lous Bickford) will enable the easy collection of audio accounts and photographs. It is very easy to record your audio account and requires no preparation. We will be launching this project at the LAFF meeting on September 18th. If you would like to know more, please send a note to Louis Bickford at louis@memria.org.

Place:  Trustee Lounge
Story Collection Time: 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
